◆ INTRODUCTION OF GPNU
Founded in 1957, Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University (GPNU) is an institution of higher education with authority of issuing Postgraduate Degree. To cater the need of international students, the School of International Education of GPNU was established in 2004. The School has the distinction of being few schools in mainland China offering all courses in English. Currently, the School offers one master degree program in Education, four undergraduate degree programs in International Business, Finance, Business Administration and Computer Science, also offers Chinese language courses for international students.
Up-till now, over 3000 students from more than 60 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and America have been enrolled and graduated successfully from our School. The School of International Education is as broad ranging in its interests and expertise. So far we have over 50 full-time and part-time faculty teaching in different programs.
◆ CHINESE LANGUAGE PROGRAM
The non-degree program is exclusively designed for international students who want to learn Chinese language. The program has three modules. Students with zero proficiency in Chinese language will be enrolled in Primary Module. Based on student’s Chinese language level, the program also offers Intermediate and Advanced Learning Modules for students who have some foundation in Chinese language.
Main Courses: Basic Chinese, Chinese Listening, Oral Chinese, Chinese Reading and Writing, Chinese Culture,. All the students who have passed the examination will be awarded course-completion certificates.
◆ UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS (Taught in English)
1.INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
DEGREE AWARDED: Bachelor's degree in Economics
DURATION: 4 years
MAIN COURSES: International Enterprise Management, Electronic Commerce, Business Negotiation, Customer Relationship Management, Network Marketing, International Marketing, etc.
JOB ORIENTATION: The aim of this major is to cultivate professional talents with high understanding of Chinese culture and innovation spirit, working in international business and multinational enterprises, governmental departments of economics, foreign trade companies and export-oriented enterprises.
2.COMPUTER SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY
DEGREE AWARDED: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
DURATION: 4 years
MAIN COURSES: Computer Operating System, C Programming, Software Engineering, Web-page Design, Design of Network Application Software, Database Application Development Training, etc.
JOB ORIENTATION: The graduates have solid and broad engineering technology foundation, professional knowledge and practical ability in the field of computer science and technology. They can engage in the application and development of computer science and technology, the application and development of multimedia technology and computer network, as well as the application, development and management of E-commerce.
3.FINANCE
DEGREE AWARDED: Bachelor's degree in Economics
DURATION: 4 years
MAIN COURSES: Commercial Bank Management, Principles of Insurance, International Finance and Settlement, Financial Marketing, International Financial Law, Finance Future, International Investment, Securities Investment Funds, Training for International Finance and Settlement Practice, etc.
JOB ORIENTATION: This program is designed to help students develop a good understanding of the basic theories, fundamentals and skills of economic, management, legal and financial aspects, as well as relevant international regulations, financial practice and finance, cultivate applied, compound and professional finance talents who can engage in international finance and financial market and institutions.
4.BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
DEGREE AWARDED: Bachelor's degree in Management
DURATION: 4 years
MAIN COURSES: E-commerce, Supply Chain and Logistics, Strategic Management, Project Management, International Trade, Business Communication, Performance Management, Corporate Finance, International Business Management, Training for International Trade Documents, etc.
JOB ORIENTATION: The graduates will have the humanistic spirit, scientific literacy, master modern business enterprise management theory, with the ability of human resource management, financial management, marketing, logistics and supply chain management, becomes the reliable and practical applied management talents for national, local economic construction and business management services.
◆ MASTER DEGREE PROGRAM (Taught in English)

DURATION: 2 years
MAIN COURSES: Educational Technology, Instructional System Design, Educational Research Methods, Education Evaluation and Supervision, Educational Management, Information Retrieval Skills and Thesis Writing, Curriculum and Teaching Methodology, Vocational and Technical Education.
JOB ORIENTATION: This program is to cultivate a broad and solid theoretical basis for educational science, to master modern educational technology and management skills, and can work in the government education management departments or education institutions.

3. All degree programs (taught in English) are closely linked with the industry, education institution and often get practical support from the real market. The students will get an opportunity of an internship in companies located in Guangdong Province. Job opportunities and career planning guidance has been provided to the students through seminars, lectures, field trips, companies/factories visits and job fairs.
4. The School of International Education has rich experience of organizing cultural activities. We have established long-term cooperative relations with Guangdong Provincial Museum, Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King, Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology, Guangzhou Lime plastic Research Institute, Chen Clan Academy Museum etc. We have successfully organized cultural activities for international students from over 10 universities of Guangzhou.

Requirements for the Chinese Language Programs
Interested candidates should be within the age bracket of 18 - 45 years. They must have good health condition and no criminal record.
Notes: Students should have physical examination within 1 month when they first come to China.
◆ SCHOLARSHIPS
1. Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship
This scholarship is set up by Guangdong Government, with the aim of encouraging more outstanding international students to get their Bachelor/Master degree education in Guangdong. 10000 Yuan/year for Bachelor, 20000 Yuan/year for Master.
2. The International Students Scholarship of GPNU
The scholarship is set up by the School of International Education of GPNU. The aim is to encourage international students of excellence both in their studies and in behaviors. Both undergraduates and Chinese language learners are entitled for the scholarship without age limit for applicants.
